Excellent advice! When I was working, some of the staff had to write technical reports - we had to capture the information that only they had acquired. Some of the staff were very reluctant/scared to write due to a perceived lack of skill. I discovered that the first draft an author writes can be the most difficult. However, that first draft can be very important, regardless of the quality. Much of the work after that is editing! The point is this - if you want to write, start writing! Don't allow the fear of a blank screen (or paper) stop you.
As we both know, there are two ideologies in writing: inspired (spiritual) and opinionated (human-generated ideas). The latter is what is difficult for writers, which produces "writer's block."
Thank you Stephen. Your writing is powerful and we can all learn from your wisdom.
Geoff, your kindness is off the charts. Thank you! The "feelings" are mutual.
Thanks for the article Stephen. I always enjoy your posts and I have been thinking of starting to write as well.
