Great word Stephen. Shame on those so-called pastors. I believe they’ve discovered that if they pander to todays culture they will grow their church and likewise their pocket books. Folks like Joel Osteen make me ill. What is wrong with the folks who attend there? They must be encouraged to NOT read their Bible lest they discover serious flaws in their pastors teachings and call them out. Whatever happened to testing all things. I’m sure I read that somewhere. 😉 These pastors need a good talking to. 😡

I'm not sure "a good talking to" would do the trick. Lol. People tend to follow blindly those who preach prosperity doctrines. They somehow think that one day they too will have such wealth. Well, as you and I know, that day never comes. So, in the meantime, they pay the bill for flushing their leader's crap down the sewage pipe. I used that analogy on an Osteen follower, and they said, "it was an honor to pay that bill." The worship of man always has the price of a lukewarm faith.

Of course in Christ we are eternally wealthy.

Treasures in Heaven. The funny thing is, we will be richer than the riches man who ever lived but won't have a single store to buy from. I plan to use my wealth to flaunt the glory of our King and Husband.

I’ve always loved the gem where God says of David, that he was a man after Gods own heart. Indicates the need for our heart to be right. We raised our kids with that example. I write to pass that on to their kids and to encourage them. Some don’t listen. We have 8 kids. 7 daughters and a son. 13-37. We raised them in the mega church environment. Sad to say half of them are really hazed by treatment of leadership. They were serving as leaders etc...but you never stop being a parent, so we still influence them.

I love David’s writings. Search me oh God and know my heart. We can make a difference in others lives, when we listen to the Father. That’s not always easy and that’s we need continued nourishment. His mercies are new every morning. Thanks for being a resource for folks.

Me too. He is one of the most personal and real to life writers. It is probably because he was a poet and song writer.

Good write Stephen. I think we the church have gotten lazy. I think we just waited to be raptured. That this is not my home mentality. The next generation sees through this hypocrisy and rejects it but still consider they are believers because they said the sinners prayer... when the groom comes for His church doesn’t it say the bride will be unsullied. Where does that put most of the church? Yes , heaven is a free gift, but the evidence of freedom in Christ is a life changed. Imperfect but peace in the middle of a storm. Thanks.

No truer words. The church is beyond lazy, most are entangled in a love affair with themselves. Personally, I believe, self-guided opinions are luring the church masses into a sleepy state of lukewarmness. And - we both know what Jesus said He will do with that group. My heart breaks for the lukewarm believers. They seem clueless as to the ramifications.
