Our churches have become businesses with leaders more akin to managerial leaders. We have completely lost the plot. Bless you Stephen for your courage in this essay.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Roman’s 1:22. Popularity and what rings with the public sentiment has been the key to church growth. Attendance doesn’t mean discipleship and true growth of the believers.

Reminds me of this in Luke:

Luke 16:14–15

[14] The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him. [15] And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
