#My Life: #23 The Boy Judge.
Man’s opinions, or laws, are subjective and relative. When we attempt to function under our “opinion” on a matter, we determine what is “good” and “evil” according to the mind of Satan.
THE BOY WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN JUDGE
It is not uncommon that children who are raised in a judgmental environment, want to be judges when they grow up. Well, that wasn’t me. Although I did have a chip on my shoulder to the point of judging everyone who hurt me throughout my childhood.
Today, at sixty-eight years age, the enemy still plagues me with dreams, nightmares actually, of righteously judging offenders of my past. Thus, one of my fleshly struggles is judging others in my mind. So……another continuous lesson has dogged me throughout my Christian walk.
Am I your Judge?
Man’s opinions, or laws, are subjective and relative. When we attempt to function under our “opinion” on a matter, we determine what is “good” and “evil” according to the mind of Satan. We then see that whatever is personally thought at present to be beneficial to “self” is the law and doctrines of God, twisted as that may sound. On the other hand, since God’s Law is absolute, He determines whatever He, out of His infinite goodness, justice, and love, states to be ultimately for man’s blessing and His glory. If He decides to reject anything that is inconsistent with His perfect will, He then categorically labels it as evil. This Truth is immovable, and man’s “opinion” cannot change what is absolute in the Kingdom of God. (See diagram PG-103)
Allow me to illustrate this. When our family moved to Phoenix and joined the team of the ministry God used to show me my tendency toward judgement, I noticed something quite disturbing, the nasty habit that some of the workers had by using judgement issues to confront those who were growing through it. I perceived a “resident evil” in the attitudes of these workers, even though they were known for teaching the identity truths. I couldn’t put my finger on it at first, but I knew something was very wrong. These workers used their leadership role to suppress the Christ-as-Life growth in “up and coming leaders.” This paradox perplexed me from day one. These workers seemed to have had a hold on their trainees by using their issues against them – not being able to discern their issues from that of personal growth in Christ.
My summary was, whatever was personally thought at the time to be beneficial to the existing leadership or who they considered of greatest importance, ruled the day! They seemed to reject many of these trainees by their own consensus and therefore perceived fast (or too slow) growing indwelt Christians as a threat. Therefore, their conclusion was, most of the actions from these trainees became attempts to be as God.
My eyes have seen some of the most horrific forms of people judging others. And I will be quick to add, much of it being my own. I have been faced with learning the true meaning of this truth from the inside out. The residue of my life-long struggle with being as God rings out in my soul most days. As in the case of my eagle story, God continues to minister to me despite my attempts to take over His role.
THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL
When man becomes God in his own mind, when self takes the center of life, good begins to take the form of evil. That which is evil begins to be described by the populous as good. A classic example of this is, in the Word, God says homosexuality is evil. However, some self-proclaimed “Christians” (those who put themselves in the center of life and decided with their morbid beliefs) are presently proclaiming what God calls as evil to be normal, born with or a self-chosen acceptable lifestyle. This one act of playing god has become one of the leading cultural battles in society today. They are claiming, contrary to God’s claims, that it is an acceptable lifestyle that God Himself accepts. When man puts himself in the center of life, he decides what is good and evil based on himself or the greatest number of persons he has befriended. When that happens, all of life becomes relative. One man’s Godship can infect the entire body of Christ if promoted effectively. This would be true for the “church” today.
A soft-sell term used for this in the world today is “situational ethics,” which is used by most universities today. They even put themselves in the center of life and say that education is god and contains the answers to life’s problems. Godly indwelt Christians are called “conservatives” and emergent (lukewarm) people are called “liberals.” New terms demand new definitions, and it is through definitions that humans find meaning and purpose for life, thus resulting in people finding life in the externals. A tactic that the enemy has mastered in this present age. What better way to eliminate the need for salvation & dependence in Jesus Christ. In my discipleship, I call this, categorical godship.
The Church today is primarily based on education equals transformation. You can’t pastor a church unless you gain a master’s degree from an institute that matches the denominations beliefs. You can’t counsel unless you have the certification that gives you the right to minister to others. Most ministries are not acceptable to the “Christian world” unless they speak the rhetoric of the local church and if that ministry focuses on Truths, i.e., the indwelling Life of Christ, truths not taught or practiced by the church’s populous – well, they are just flat out rejected.
No longer does the church release indwelt Christians to function by the standards of God. Did you know that there is NOT ONE example in the New Testament that encourages new converts to go for higher education after they get saved – not one? In fact, there are several testimonies where God takes highly educated people, dumbs them down and then uses them to transform the lives of others. Godship is everywhere! Let’s examine the words of one of the most educated men in the Bible – Paul:
And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. (1Cor 2:1-5)
Does this sound like a highly educated brilliant man? Allow me to answer that for you – NO! It sounds like a man who has been reduced to the basics – fearful, speech problems, filled with weakness, trembled when he would teach and without persuasive word. This is NOT a man that would be invited to speak at our popular churches today.
I was invited to teach at a mega church. When working out the final details, the process was stopped. The business pastor said that the Senior Pastor did not like my zealous approach to preaching. I replied with a question, what about the doctrines and truths I was teaching in the video he had reviewed? Within an hour, the gig was cancelled.
Isn’t it ironic that today’s church is almost 100% dependent on “wisdom of men” and know little about the “power of God.” God forbid if a leader isn’t a good communicator and confessed before his teaching that he struggled with weaknesses and fear, and can you imagine what the populous would have to gossip about if the leader was up there “trembling” while he was teaching?
I’ll be the judge of that!
When man, or church, puts himself in the center of life and starts deciding what is good and evil, then things become relative – they form a people and church that trains others in whatever is personally thought to be beneficial to the greatest number of persons or to the persons of greatest importance. This is why we have a church that generally promotes leaders, teachers, pastors or whoever, that demonstrates the greatest importance. Meaning, whoever is in power or whatever group has the greatest number of people will determine the standards and conduct for that particular church. Where is God in all this? I will tell you where He is – He is readying Himself to spit such a lukewarm church out of His mouth.
'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.' "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: 'I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. 'Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 'Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. (Rev 3:13-19)
Self-proclaimed gods are self-taught lightweights!
Even though I have most likely offended most of the church leaders who are reading this esay, please take the warning seriously. The church is in turmoil, we live in times where you just never know where she stands from week to week, month to month, year to year. What was once evil is good and what was once good in the eyes of the Lord is evil. The accumulation of lukewarm believers will continue to push for a new kind of leadership that is quick to amend church doctrines, develop new theories, or revisions, to modernize Christendom.
THE ROOT CAUSE
IF God’s Laws are the rule-of-thumb in which He judges, be assured He will continue to do what He does out of His infinite sovereignty, goodness, love, and justice. Everything He does is for Himself, His Son & His beloved Bride, the Church. May God cause us to embrace these truths quickly and quit partaking in demonic historical revisionism.
The Lord said Judge not least you be judged. I can’t tell you how many times this simple statement has rescued me from judging others. The only one who has the prerogative TO judge is the ONE who established the Law. As for us indwelt Christians, that, of course, would be God.
Our churches have become businesses with leaders more akin to managerial leaders. We have completely lost the plot. Bless you Stephen for your courage in this essay.
Amen! Such a good post Stephen. God bless you.
