TRUTH AND CONSEQUENCES
Homosexuality is a topic that has sparked intense debate and discussion within both religious and secular circles - certainly within the authentic Christian community. No matter how believers “feel” regarding this topic, as we explore a Biblical perspective, it’s essential to approach it with grace, love, and a commitment to truth. This is not an “opinion piece” - this essay reveals what the Bible says about homosexuality, acknowledging that all of us—believers and non-believers alike—have no “right” to defend what God calls sin.
I have studied cultural movements and issues for more years than I can remember. This topic, however, has become the most sensitive and deceptive of them all. It not only became the most depraved movement, but this single issue is also blamed for the leading ideology that led the Western culture into a total meltdown. This, my reader, is the root cancer of all global degenerative movements.
Leviticus 18:22 states, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
The problem is not new! It has been around since the days of Old Babylon, even the days before the Great Flood. Since America has been deeply rooted in Biblical doctrines, we avoided the debauchery of this movement until 1924, when the Society for Human Rights was founded in Chicago, becoming the first documented gay rights organization in America. It published the first American magazine for homosexuals, called Friendship and Freedom.
To establish normality, depraved cultures must use the ideology of discrimination. Out of the top ten movements in America, all ten of them used the discrimination clause to establish their beliefs AS a norm. In 1953, President Dwight Eisenhower signed Executive Order 10450, banning homosexuals from federal government employment due to perceived security risks. This single singing ignited a revolt throughout America - the Sexual Revolution was born.
By 1969, thanks to the “hippy culture,” America faced a turning point, which ignited the LGBTQ+ rights movement. They pressed in on the equality movement, made use of it through political lobbying. Since those early “hippies” were now legislators, significant progress was made. The free sex grown up hippies began funding and advancing homosexuals through legislative decisions, platforms, and closet advertisers. The rest, as they say, is history.
REVIEWING THE BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW
It all started in the Old Testament. The Hebrew text and the descriptives of homosexuality are explicitly discussed in many passages. Since the fall of Adam and Eve, the first world, before the flood, became so vile in sexual practices - sex with animals, demon sex, men with men, women with women, etc., that the Lord became obligated to destroy the world - except Noah and his family.
After God hit the reset button, He established laws forbidding the practices of pre-flood sexual behaviors.
Leviticus 18:22 states, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)
Leviticus 20:13 reinforces this prohibition, declaring that those who engage in same-sex relations should be put to death. When a society or a nation rejects the mandate of putting these violators to death, He becomes obligated to do the destruction, as in the case of the flood and Sodom and Gomorrah.
Two Cities Nuked
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19) is often associated with homosexuality. The cities were destroyed due to their wickedness, which included sexual immorality. Shortly after immorality, specifically, homosexuality becomes accepted by a people, their society, in general, must be destroyed. If anyone understands the infectious nature of immorality, it’s the Hebrew God.
Let’s review this. 99.99% of humanity was defiled by immorality before the flood, which ended in destruction. As for Sodom and Gomorrah, 99.99% were defiled outside of Lot and his wife, which ended in destruction. Regarding Old Babylon, 99.99% were defiled by immorality and idolatry outside of Daniel and a few others, which ended in destruction. Rome - 99.99% were entrapped by immorality and idolatry outside of a select few, which ended in the fall of Rome. Since Rome was the last superpower noted in the Bible, our present empirical governing nations, once uniting as a one-world superpower, it is imperative that the sin of immorality is the 99.99% of the populous before Yeshua/Jesus returns to destroy humanity.
However, there will be a deceptive act conducted by the Antichrist that will replicate God’s repeated plans to destroy nations of immorality. What does he do? Shortly before the world implodes upon its depraved ideologies, he will step out of his closet and offer the world a peace plan to do the opposite of what God typically does with immoral nations. It works for three and a half years. Then he himself destroys all non-believers in him. Then comes the real Yeshua/Jesus, who does what His Father has done throughout human history and delivers the Seven Bowls of Judgement upon an immoral world. End of story, oh, I mean, end of humanity.
Homosexuality in the New Testament
Romans 1:26-27:
Paul writes, “For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men.”
Paul not only emphasizes that homosexuality is a sin, but it is contrary to God’s design for human sexuality - even in modern cultures. Sexual attraction is for the fulfillment of God’s mandate of being fruitful and multiplying the earth. While it is pleasurable, the pleasure is used by the Lord to fulfill the command. It is that simple. Any acts of pleasure that do NOT advance the Lord’s order are a sin.
But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin. (Romans 14:23)
1 Corinthians 6:9-10:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
Paul’s list is not self-opinion! He is noting the sobering consequences of such practiced sinners who will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God. However, the minds of ambiguity will slide by this warning with passive resistance while dishing out some morbid opinion that matters not to God. No question. However, it does not change the doctrines of God’s requirements.
Jesus, on the issue of Sexuality
While Jesus did not specifically address homosexuality, His teachings emphasize purity, the love of His Father, and fidelity. In Matthew 19:4-6, Jesus reaffirms God’s original design for marriage—a union between one man and one woman. His teachings uphold the sanctity of heterosexual marriage. Here is the “gig.”
Yeshua advanced one analogy on this topic. Men represent Jesus in the home, and women represent the Holy Spirit. Children come from this perfect union and represent future converts to the indwelling Life of Jesus Christ. When Satan successfully flipped this simple analogy, it removed Jesus as head of His Church, the Body of Christ. Thus, he can easily slide his Great Harlot, the False Prophet, into position in the End Times.
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” (Revelation 17:1-2)
What is this sexual immorality? Do I really need to answer that?
I know this is a sensitive topic. As authentic Christians, our response to the Biblical teaching on homosexuality should be rooted in Grace and the Love of God while we remain immovable regarding its doctrines. Sure, most of us recognize that all of us fall short of God’s standards. However, with Yeshua/Jesus living within us, those standards are fulfilled by Jesus Himself. Thus, we are mandated to teach and practice those standards by releasing Jesus from within to live them out. God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit abhors immorality - and for good reason. While we extend compassion to those struggling with same-sex attraction, we must teach that it is a sin. If any of us cannot say that homosexuality is a sin, we WILL end up on a list that might inspire God to turn us over to a depraved mind (Rom. 1:26).
