The seven praises of Revelation are expressions of worship and adoration to God and the Lamb (Jesus Christ) by various groups of heavenly beings, such as angels, elders, and living creatures. They are found in different chapters of the book of Revelation, and they usually consist of seven attributes or TRUTHS that are ascribed to God and the Lamb, such as blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might. Three primary examples of the seven praises of Revelation are:
Revelation 5:12: The angels, elders, and living creatures praise the Lamb, saying, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
Revelation 7:12: The angels, elders, and living creatures praise God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
Revelation 15:3-4: The saints who overcame the beast praise God, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested.”
The seven praises of Revelation reflect the perfection and majesty of God and the Lamb and the gratitude and reverence of the redeemed and the heavenly hosts. They also anticipate the final victory and consummation of God’s kingdom, when every creature will join in the chorus of praise to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb.
Whether you believe it or not, when indwelt believers arrive in Heaven, each is going to be in the ranks of those who sing praises unto the King of kings. One single fact always remains: believers will spend eternity praising God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit with eternal triumphant praise. All will praise our Husband, Jesus, directly as the ONE who has redeemed authentic Christians. Worship on earth is a rehearsal of sorts to ready us for this eternal mindset of the Seven Praises.
The most honorable and highest privilege for God’s selected Bride for His Son is to exalt Him with continual praise. After all, He is the source and empowered ONE to receive our praises. Throughout eternity, when we praise, we are going to be singing and shouting songs of rejoicing to the Lamb of God, our beloved Husband. Our eternal attitude will be in thanksgiving of God the Father delivering unto us a Redeemer and Lord who is now called the Lion of the tribe of Judah…
