#Prophecy. The Old Testament Rapture.
What's the difference between external Christians and Indwelt Christians? Great question. However, let's first review the power of pre-flood apathy.
THE OLD TESTAMENT RAPTURE | UPSIDE WRONG
Early in my Christian walk, I was introduced to A. W. Tozer’s influence. He was known in church history as “a prophetic voice for modern times.” He was considered “extremely influential in evangelical Christianity” during his adult life. He made a prophetic statement that predicted a future culture. He said a day would come when the Church would suffer from “the decline of apocalyptic expectation.” He went on to say:
There was once a feeling among gospel Christians that the end of the age was near, and many were breathless with anticipation of a new world order about to emerge.
This new order was to be preceded by a silent return of Christ to earth, not to remain, but to raise the righteous dead to immortality and to glorify the living saints in the twinkling of an eye. These He would catch away to the marriage supper of the lamb, while the earth meanwhile plunged into its baptism of fire and blood in the Great Tribulation. This would be relatively brief, ending dramatically with the battle of Armageddon and the triumphant return of Christ with His Bride to reign for a thousand years.
Mr. Tozer, your prediction came true. The Church no longer has an excitement of the apocalyptic expectation of the Rapture, let alone an interest in the Holiness of eschatology. The world over has been duped into apathy.
Apathy is a feeling of not having emotion or interest in life-changing Truths. It is a person who cares little for the signs of the times. While a faithful few maintain excitement over the unchangeable fact of the Rapture and our Lord’s Second Coming, the lion’s share of the Church has slipped into the decline of apocalyptic expectations. Simply put, the Church has become “upside wrong.”
Bluntly speaking, since the church culture avoids contemplating the permissible acts of Satan, the global church will maintain its focus on fixing the fix God has fixed on humanity.
Jesus warned against an attitude of apathy.
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. ‘For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24:36-39)
As with most significant events in the Old Testament, the Day of Noah was the first prophetic demonstration of the New Testament Rapture – both numerically and theologically. Numerically is in the few that will be Raptured, and theologically in the doctrines of God turning the masses over to corruption by giving them what they want.
As the masses laughed and mocked Noah and his family, we find the exact attitude of apathy in our present culture. God worked for 900+ years to change the hearts of the masses from Adam to Noah. Noah himself preached to the people for exactly one hundred and thirty years. Not only did they not listen, but they did not realize God meant what He said. However, they did not see this until after the flood came and took them away. Such will be the case with the Rapture – as Jesus said.
Today we find the masses caught up in everything upside wrong. Each is busy with their picket signs, posting opinions, suing one another, and labeling prophetic teachers as people of misinformation.
Today, nobody has time for prophecy, let alone take the time to listen to modern prophets like A.W. Tozer. What they do take time for is picketing their opinions that do not impact prophecy. They have been duped into fighting the predestined unfolding prophecies seen in culture by demanding their human rights – rights that God never gave them. The bottom line is when the masses encounter elements of prophecies unfolding; they opinionate versus heeding the warnings of the Living God. This is what I call fixing the fix that God has fixed upon humanity.
The primary sign of pre-rapture timing is none other than mockery. Mockery derives from the Greek word ‘derider.’ It means one who accuses another of being a false teacher. Listen carefully to Peter’s words:
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation." For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. (2 Peter 3:3-6)
Noah and his family were mocked relentlessly. Modern prophets like Tozer and others are being mocked and dismissed as heretics. Have you ever wondered what was going through the minds of those left behind in the flood? Don’t. The odds are they went to their deaths in the blindness of their depraved minds.
If you think those left behind after the Rapture will be grieved over NOT listening to the warning signs of Jesus, think again. While there will be curiosity over the missing lives of the faithful few, the Antichrist will manipulate the event so that the masses will be given an opportunity for a second chance. However, this second chance will be through their devotion to the new Christ, the Antichrist’s False Prophet. Folks, life will go on; they will eat, drink, and be merry until the hour Satan shows his face in the second half of the Tribulation.
If we stick to the Biblical Hebrew percentages, only ten percent of our viewers or listeners are attentive to this message. That means that ninety percent think, here we go again, more doom and gloom. How can blind men see the person standing in front of them? They cannot. Let’s add one more element. How can blind & deaf men see and hear what is in front of them? They cannot. Such is the case with the ninety percent. Each is blind and deaf. In other words, they cannot see or hear the person of Truth. They must experience a miracle restoring sight and hearing through an authentic born-again experience.
All this to say, there is no logic in the left-behind masses coming to the Truth after the Truth; the Holy Spirit is removed from the face of the earth. Each will be more clueless or depraved than the most clueless man alive today.
Christianity 101 is knowing that humanity cannot embrace the Truth without the influence of the Holy Spirit. If by chance you are one of those that believe you can discover and receive Christ without the Holy Spirit, you are confessing you have a depraved mind. Nothing is spiritually accomplished without the Holy Spirit. Nothing! Therefore, when the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth on Rapture Day, anyone who is left behind will be as deceived as Satan himself.
Jesus warned against apathy, carelessness, hard hearts, ambivalence, and vagueness of belief. Jesus knew that an hour would come when a thief would enter the world in an hour no one expects – take your goods, kidnap your children, and worse yet, kill the members of your household. That hour is approaching humanity sooner than you think. If you read the daily news, those birth pangs are active today.
Jesus said these words in Matthew 24:40-44: "Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. "Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left. "Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. "But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
The sin of procrastination is dominating the lives of the masses, which is incorrectly estimating the time required to complete certain tasks or how much time they have left to present an image of responsibility. People who procrastinate are fearful, have uncontrolled worry, start projects but don’t finish them, have lost interest in the more important elements of life, and, sad to say, become angered if pushed. They were ultimately excommunicating you and Jesus from their life, resulting in resistive silence. What if we applied this principle to the warning signs of the end times?
People who have been labeled as procrastinators are classically perfectionists. These individuals refuse to accept any standard short of their view of perfection. Since this view is unattainable, they procrastinate. The same ideology traps theological perfectionists. Each tends to delay the obvious signs of the end times while placing their hope in their perfectionistic view of their self-interpretive analysis of the End Times Prophecies. In the end, most are filled with hot air.
Yes. We live in a world that is upside wrong. What was once common sense is now conspiracy. What was once right is now misinformation. What was once wrong is now a modern-day movement. More ironically, what was once the real Jesus is now a Christ figure who looks, sounds, and performs miracles like the authentic but, in reality, is a man filled with the spirit of the Antichrist, whom the majority believe is the real deal, Jesus Christ. Until next time.
Have you ever considered the FLOOD was God's first RAPTURE?
Love your Noah analogy Stephen. So much rich theology in Genesis that most folks consider fairy tales...even many Christians. 😢
