I soon realized that most believers steal from God to attempt to motivate others to change through external standards, resulting in being a control freak.
Personally, I believe the method of "fixing" self and others is the most dangerous element of humanity's flesh. By allowing pain, suffering, and relentless difficult circumstances, Jesus is released to bring self and others to the end of themselves - which is where Life from within is discovered and lived out.
It can be hard to not fix it with our kids. Our grown kids don’t want to hear every one of our life’s lessons or poems or stories. Some of them are open to reading them but others feel like I am preaching to them. Sometimes I feel if the shoe fits. But I want them to grow in their own. I find I seldom share but rather take the time to just call them and ask them about their life. When I keep the fixing to the Lord fixing me, the Lord tends to put people in my life that ask me to help them get fixed.
Once our children reach adulthood, few continue to be mentored by their fathers. One daughter reads my stuff but refuses to let me know. Another, who hangs on every word I write. The issue? Pride - thinking if Dad corrects their thinking, they feel like little children. The only way to battle pride is with love. It is proof they need a little more time to realize that all believers need continuing discipleship through their parents & others. Until then, do as I do, send loving texts, or phone calls, stating how much you love them - highlighting their lives.
GODSHIP: How do you tend to play God?
By attempting to be the "fix it man". Every time I attempted to help someone "fix" their problems, I failed, miserably! So, I quit doing that...

Amen! This can be a hard lesson to learn, but it must be learned - we must come to the end of ourselves.
Amen!
So true. Same here. I have kids that love to hear and others that feel threatened by it. 😊

And you are called for sure !
We all are.
Super important point . Always remember God is the one in control and all knowledge is His . We are the servants, He is the master .
For certain. Without His knowledge being in me through the mind of Christ, I would have nothing to write about. LOL.
