To be or not to be? This ridiculous lie became a lifelong compulsive habit of gaining the favor of others to eradicate my “feelings” of self-hatred - including gaining the favor of God.
So many, I think, struggle with trying to make loved ones proud.
"If I could just make enough money my dad will be proud." "
If I can graduate with honors my mom will be proud."
Because we are striving so hard to make others proud (and often failing) we get the subconscious idea that God isn't proud of us either so He can't possibly accept us. We're never good enough in our own minds. I think that prevents a lot of people from truly accepting the idea that there's nothing they can do, nothing they NEED to do, to be worthy of Christ's sacrifice.

Thank you! I struggle with this and will read again, as usual.💖🙌
Most people do, Kelliann. As you reread this entry, may the Lord bless you.
