IM UNITED: Uniting Christian Writers
The IM Writers Association. We aim to create a community of writers who share a common faith and passion for writing that advances the Life of Jesus Christ.
UNITING CHRISTIAN WRITERS WORLDWIDE
I writing to you today to invite you to join us in our mission to unite Christian writers worldwide.
Greetings, my name is Dr. Stephen Phinney. I am the founder of IOM America, the IM Worldview Institute, the IM Online School, and the Substack End Times Chronicles author. My objective is to unite solid, well-balanced Christian writers.
We aim to create a community of writers who share a common faith and passion for writing that advances the Life of Jesus Christ.
We believe that by coming together, we can inspire and encourage one another to create works that honor God and Jesus Christ through content inspired by the Holy Spirit - while spreading His message of love, hope, and the indwelling Life of Jesus. We envision a world where Christian writers are empowered to use their writing gifts to make a lasting impression and impact a troubled world, those seeking answers and hope.
I, personally, have been working on this plan for well over ten years. Today, we are ready to launch the mission.
We invite you to join us in this mission. Whether you are a seasoned writer or just starting out, we believe that your voice is important and that your words can change lives.
If you are new to our network, feel free to check out our mission and what we believe. HERE.
The following will reveal the details of the mission. -Dr. Stephen Phinney
IM Writers Association - Unfolding Compassion in Action. The association endeavors to help members of the body of Christ to experience, mature in, and effectively communicate the message of the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension in the indwelt Christian’s various spheres of influence.
The primary objective of the Christian Writers Association is to unite sound Biblical writers in equipping readers, listeners, and viewers to build up the Body of Christ and assist in empowering men, women, children, and families to have a greater impact on the communities they serve. This is accomplished by providing Christ-centered, Bible-based content that advances the Gospel of Jesus Christ - in the writer and reader. Writers will be encouraged to use writing skills, podcasts, and video productions - both in the mediums of fiction and non-fiction.
All writers will be required to provide content that advances the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Writers must agree to write sound biblical articles to express Truth and the integrity of Jesus Christ & the Christian faith - supported by the Holy Bible. The association will not accept essays/content that advances mystic or spiritual ideologies that deviate from the Bible. Publications and media can include “opinions” and culture-related issues but with the objective of leading the reader/viewer back to the Truth contained in the Bible.
There are different ways to write Christian content. Creative writers make use of fiction and non-fiction alike. However, a few guidelines will be encouraged:
Know the Audience: A well-intended audience/readership is the doorway to advancing our mission - lead others to Christ or grow them in their faith. Topics should have this objective in all published or produced content. Remembering, our mission as writers is to evangelize or grow the Body of Christ.
Doctrinal Principles: This section lists the core principles and doctrines that guide the writing process and the content of the articles. These principles should be based on sound Biblical scholarship, theological reasoning, and ethical considerations. Some examples of doctrinal principles are:
The articles should be faithful to the original texts and contexts of Scripture as much as possible.
The articles should be respectful of different perspectives and interpretations within Christianity.
The articles should be clear, accurate, and well-organized.
The articles should be relevant, engaging, and helpful for the readers.
Writing Standards: This section specifies the standards that apply to each aspect of writing an article, such as research methods, sources, citations, references, language, style, tone, etc. These standards should be consistent with academic conventions and professional ethics. Some examples of standards are: The articles should use reliable and credible sources that support their claims and arguments.
The articles should acknowledge their Biblical sources properly using a recognized citation style.
The articles should avoid insults, bias, foul language, sexual overtones, distortion, or misrepresenting facts or opinions.
The articles should use appropriate language and tone for their intended audience and purpose.
Expectations: This section states the expectations writers must meet to submit their articles for IM Writers Association publication or review. These expectations may include deadlines, formats, quality checks, feedback mechanisms, etc. These expectations are to protect the integrity of the mission itself. Some examples of expectations are:
The writers should submit their articles by a specified date before they go into production or publication.
The writers should follow a specific format for their articles according to the guidelines provided by the publisher or editor.
The writers should ensure that their articles meet certain quality criteria such as clarity, coherence, logicity, originality, and solid Biblical content, etc.
The writers should respond to any comments or suggestions from reviewers or editors in a timely and constructive manner.
We will provide detailed information to all interested writers once we launch. However, here are the basics of the “how” this adventure will play out:
The top priority is to begin capturing interested writers. If you are interested in being a part of this adventure, please make sure you notify me via email: drphinney@iomamerica.org
The mission contains two aspects. The first is that Christian writers will be recommended and broadcasted throughout our platform that we choose to advance - similarly to the restack and recommendation system within Substack. However, this will extend to the entire IOM Network on all social media. Secondly, all IM Christian Writers Associate members will have their articles/essays published through our network - including publishing and posting through the IM Christian Writers Substack - coming soon.
Once an applicant becomes an official member, links to their Substack homepage will be provided on all posted articles/essays. This will not only advance the IM Writers Association but will extend the numeric readership for each individual member. If our calculations are correct, it should go exponential within a year.
All members will be expected to provide a link to the IM Writers Forum on their Substack. We will provide the IM Writers Certificate logo for each member. The certificate icon will notify the member’s readership that the member is a part of the IM Writers Association, which will verify the member’s writings are a “safe place” for interested and mindful readers.
Members will be expected to promote, recommend, restack, and advance all members within the association. Each time a member recommends another writer, an occasional mention of the Christian Writers Association should be made use of when appropriate. For example, [your comment]. Keith is a member of the IM Christian Writers Association. This is what will encourage Christians to read the post, plus have other Christian writers possibly become a member. Our growth will depend on this.
These are just a few of the benefits if each Christian writer joins forces to advance the messages the Holy Spirit gives each of us. The time is short, the need is great, and the calling is irrevocable. I would love to join forces with you as a writer because, as believers, I believe we share similar vision, doctrines, and goals. I think we can create amazing content together that will benefit both of us and a world audience. If you are interested in working with me or have any questions about me or my work, please feel free to contact me at any time.
It is time to take action. Here are my suggestions on what to do next:
Share this post with every Christian writer you know or have a connection with.
Decide the “if” this is something you desire to be a part of.
If so, restack this post with a supportive comment and invite others to join us in this adventure. Restack it once a day for a week.
Take the poll below. I need to know the level of interest of other writers.
Email me your interest - include your name, email address, and Substack homepage URL. drphinney@iomamerica.org
Suppose you are a reader who does not write. We need your polling as well.
As writers, we have written articles, blogs, newsletters, eBooks, and web copy for readers in different industries, such as health, education, theology, technology, and finance - centered on the Gospel. Maybe we have also published several books under our own name and received positive feedback from readers and critics. Most of us have excellent research skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to different tones and formats. We can do this together. Let’s do this. The Lord Jesus will grant us great favor if we keep our motives pure.
Wisdom cries aloud in the street, and now, on the internet…
