What is your perspective? People who suffer often develop a deep understanding of the fragility of the human condition, cultivating empathy and compassion for others who are in pain. Is this your experience?

Still working through pain, betrayal, sadness, grief, anger at all the evil I've witnessed since 2020. Grateful for Jesus and I pray for his comfort and strength. Still learning how to pray. Thank you and I'm crying again.

Suffering isn't only a painful challenge for the individual, but it is a challenge for the close friends, relatives, and associates of the one suffering. What is their response to the one suffering? Often it is the response given to Job by his family, friends, and community. We should aspire to do better than that!

Keith, it is a good thing that the article addresses any type of suffering! The principles remain in play for the one suffering directly and indirectly. Praise God!

That is correct! Some caretakers are distracted by their role and don't see the application of these principles. Some are so emotionally overwhelmed by the suffering that they hide, or even lash out. They need loving counselling as well.
