Dying to self brings numerous benefits to our spiritual lives. It allows us to experience true freedom from the bondage of our selfish wants, desires, and much more.
Love it, Martin. "Dying to oneself” is a supernatural TRUTH in indwelling Christian faith, symbolizing the surrender of one’s own will and desires to release Christ Jesus from within. It’s about letting go of our self-centeredness, pride, and worldly desires and instead, embracing humility, love, and the actual Life of Jesus. This self-denial is not about losing who we are in Christ, but rather, finding or discovering the reality that we are vessels for His Life. As Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” How great is that!
It is ironic that dying to self brings such great rewards:
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. (Mat 16:24-27)
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (Rev 22:12)
Yet we can't rest on our complacency of having died to self : Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. (1Co 10:12)

Praying for this through Jesus as a new Christian🙏.
We all are! New or old timers in Christ, it is a daily appropriation of our identity in Jesus. Amen?
