Identity is the glue that bonds the mind to beliefs. Beliefs are a confession of identity, or what the individual identifies as fuel to existing behavior - righteous or otherwise.
What made a big difference for me is when I realized that the thief can steal any of our fleshly identities (father/mother/citizen/worker, etc.) Thus, it became extremely important to be knowledgeable of who I am in Christ - then incorporate this into my identity - who I really am. That can never be stolen by the thief. Additionally, any other identity of the flesh exists in the sight of God, and must remain subservient to the spirit.
For many years I identified with the Pentecostal movement, and was perplexed as to why everyone could not understand the miraculous nature of Jesus. After my refreshing 4 years ago, I saw Jesus in new light. I now identify as an indwelt born-again believer living from the love of Christ, with little power but adhering to His Word. Spiritual discernment now abounds, scarily so sometimes. I now encourage others to die to the flesh and live from Jesus. What a miracle my saviour performed in me.
What person, place, or thing that you tend to lodge your identity?

“We purpose to advance Jesus relentlessly.” I love this comment . I want to incorporate it into my thought processes !! Thank you .
If you are relentless in that, He will be glorified in His identity in you.

When believers make a movement, or denomination, out of a phase of the Gospel, trouble knocks on the door.
