ME BEING ME
The phrase "me being me" often implies a sense of self-acceptance and authenticity, but it can also become a misnomer when it leads to self-centeredness and resistance to spiritual growth.
In the context of our identity in Jesus Christ, this mindset can hinder our transformation and sanctification. When we cling to our old selves, the trash the Old Nature left behind, and justify our flaws under the guise of "me being me," we resist the work of the Holy Spirit in shaping us into the image of Christ.
True identity in Christ calls us to die to our old selves and embrace the new creation we are in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17). This involves surrendering our will, desires, and behaviors to align with God's purpose and character. By focusing on "me being me," we risk prioritizing our comfort over our calling, ultimately stunting our spiritual growth and the fullness of life that Christ offers.
