Many boomers saw hypocrisy and materialism worshipped. Church attendance had become a formal and boring obligation. In search of meaning, many turned to psychedelic drugs. In the meantime, we had children. And those children, having parents whose values seemed ridiculous, were directionless. It is natural for children to rebel, but our kids were frustrated by having such long leashes. Many never grew up. And, of course, they had children, and those children seem as wretched as we did to the Greatest Generation.
That being said, we are all shaped by events and America is due for spiritual renewal. It's happening in some parts of the country and the conversion of Denzel Washington is a Christmas present for all who have faith.
Well said, Charles. That is why I call it “The Millennial Sleeping Pill.” Every generation has added new ingredients to this toxic mix, deluding our present culture to take the little red pill. On Christmas day, the day of highest suicides, people will take their lives to end this generational demise. We need to pray for these people - today!
