The things stated in our passage as “foolish” among people is an expression referring to those who were impotent of formal learning, community position, wealth, and self-established power, and who were/are considered as fools to the common world of educators, and were despised & threatened by these worldly “qualified” teachers of the Gospel, and/or, leadership modalities.
