Prophecy: While Bible prophecies started before Adam and Eve took their first breath, the ancient prophecies began to show their colors after the flood.
Ancient prophecies of the Bible are our Lord’s worldview into the past, present, and future. This raises a perfect question. Why turn toward the Bible for tomorrow’s news? It’s simple but not always obvious to readers – in the pages of the Bible, there are approximately one thousand prophecies, of which over half have been fulfilled to the exact prediction. The remaining prophecies are being unfolded before our eyes.
I love history. In my eyes, prophecies are history written in advance. I call it continuing His Story! When people think about a God who knows of the sins they will commit before they strike the match of depravity - most tend to retreat to deluding sovereignty. Let’s face it. Humanity wants to deceive itself into believing that all actions originate from the self. The challenge? God obligates Himself to destroy all idols of the self-life.
ANCIENT PROPHECIES
The history books of global events have proven that not one prophecy in the Bible has ever failed to come to the past. Darkness has a way of hiding the Truth. However, the ancient prophecies of the Bible have a track record of never missing their mark. Only God, through His Holy Word, can reveal tomorrow’s news today. For this purpose, the Bible is the only reliable document that serves as a prophetic worldview to discern the events hidden in the dark places of our future.
While Bible prophecies started before Adam and Eve took their first breath, the ancient prophecies began to show their colors after the flood when Noah’s grandson, Nimrod, built the tower of Babel. Nimrod became the first antichrist figure. There is strong evidence that the spirit of the Antichrist possessed him.
In a short period, the area of the Tower of Babel became the location of the great city of Babylon. Babylon is the second most frequently mentioned city in the Bible – it is mentioned 287 times in 253 verses. Jerusalem is the most mentioned. Out of the noted mentions, no positive reference is given to this city. It is always seen as the arch-enemy of God. Babylon’s roots are pagan, humanistic, and certainly rebellious against God – consistently being arrogant in unholy attributes that reflect the characteristics of Satan. As many theologians believe, Babylon became the first throne location of Satan himself.
Because of the ancient prophecies being fulfilled regarding Babylon, it no longer exists as a superpower culturally and financially. However, its influence can be seen in every country today. Babylon became the source of all gods and religions outside the Hebrew God. That means that every belief and religion on the earth outside of Jesus Christ derives from Babylon, or should I say Satan himself? In this, we know that Babylon is still alive and well religiously.
According to Genesis chapter eleven, Babylon became the first superpower to attempt a world order devoid of the Hebrew God’s influence.
In the last book of the Bible, the book of Revelation, we discover a revived Babylon. This new Babylon will dominate the global financial world order, at the center of the Antichrist’s Tribulation. This begs another perfect question. Why Babylon?
First of all, Babylon is the connecting point of the future government of the Antichrist. Secondly, Satan’s ability to rule the world was successfully established during the years of Babylon. He, Satan, returns to his successful model when he is released to dominate the world for seven years – the Tribulation. You see, ancient Babylon has everything to do with Bible prophecies.
Try to view Satan’s global plan as likened to a politician who uses a plan that seems to work effectively under all conditions. Why would Satan reinvent the wheel? After all, he is the author of the most effective system that dominated the world order – Babylon. As the Antichrist of Revelation, he brings forward his well-established and successful plan from his Babylonian years. This plan, as in the case of Old Babylon, will be host to three power centers – Rome or the EU, for its political base (Rev. 17), Jerusalem will be his control center for global religion (2 Thess. 2:4), and the new Babylon or the World Economic Forum, is his financial and economic hub (Rev. 18).
Read John’s list of twenty-eight commodities in Revelation 18:12-13 regarding the Antichrist’s possession list. You will see it matches the list of idolatrous wants of the kings of Old Babylon. Since God took these things away from the kings during His destruction of Old Babylon, Satan attempts to rub it in the face of God by gaining financial dominance over the world by taking ownership of the twenty-eight precious commodities of God.
The new Babylon will become the world’s commercial center, international banks, and corporations – completely managed and run by the Antichrist. At the peak of Satan’s rule, he will “think” he has outpowered the Living God. But God will only allow him to glory in his temporary pleasures for seven short years. After that, God burns it all from the fire bands from Heaven. Our Lord calls it the refining fire. Check this out:
Warning. Many are tempted to fall into apostasy after hearing immovable facts about the End Times. There are many reasons, but the main one is fear. Please remember that our Lord’s prophecies are given to us as encouragement. He loves us so much that He offers a snapshot into His future. Always remember that the prophecies are mostly about those who refuse Jesus. In fact. He cares enough to remove us through the Rapture so we DON’T have to suffer His warnings.
