I am a blessed grandpa—an Opa to eleven grandchildren and two great‑grandchildren—and I cherish every moment of it. Being called Opa reminds me that family is the living testimony of Yeshua’s faithfulness through generations, and each hug, smile, and story shared with them is a glimpse of His indwelling Life flowing through our lineage.
HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
Our culture is quietly entering a new genealogical turning point—one that few have yet recognized. The Millennial generation, shaped by digital immediacy and social fragmentation, is now stepping into the role of grandparents. This shift carries profound implications: a generation raised amid the collapse of traditional institutions and the rise of virtual connection is now responsible for transmitting heritage, wisdom, and stability to the next generation. Yet many Millennials were themselves raised in homes where the rhythms of family life were disrupted by economic strain, cultural redefinition, and the erosion of Christ-centered identity.
As they become grandparents, the question is not merely biological—it’s spiritual and cultural. Will they pass down the enduring truths that anchor families, or will they perpetuate the transient values of a screen-driven age?
The answer will determine whether this genealogical transition becomes a renewal of legacy or a deepening of generational drift.
