End Times: Dr. Stephen Phinney is dedicated to providing sound Biblical eschatological doctrines.
The End Times Chronicles delivers critical theology concerned with the final events of past, present & future events foretold in the Old & New Testament prophecies - particularly in the book of Revelation. It depicts the ultimate destiny of humanity while revealing the fulfilled prophetic events of Jesus Christ. This concept is commonly referred to as the "end of the world" or "end times." The word arises from the Greek ἔσχατος eschatos, meaning "last," and -logy, meaning "the study of."
Who is Stephen Phinney?
I have been in the publishing world for many years. My educational degrees are in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and a Doctorate in Ministry, emphasizing International Cross-Cultural Affairs. My focus on the End Times evolved from my love for Biblical eschatological accuracy contained within the Old & New Testaments. I have been married for 45 years and have three grown daughters and ten grandchildren. Read the full bio.
What’s your Substack about in one sentence?
I hope each article provides readers with the connection of modern events to prophecies stated in the Word of God.
Who reads your Substack?
Interested individuals who are curious about Jesus Christ, culture, and the Creator - particularly when it comes to eschatological issues.
How are you different than other Substack writers?
I don’t think I’m that different. I appreciate most writers on Substack. However, I would say that my writings are unique in the sense of focusing on answering questions readers have regarding global events and how they line up with the Bible.
What is your “tone” in your writings?
Ouch. I am often told my writing style is direct, to the point, and packed with passion. I think my writings tend to either offend or challenge readers. I often say my writing is not for all audiences. I wish they were, but the truth is, my entries are typically for individuals who want it said without a lot of candy-coating.
What other venues do you make use of?
Substack is my hobby. In my daily responsibilities, I am a film producer and author and lead two non-profits - IOM America and Identity Matters Worldview Institute. Both ministries focus on advancing Christians in their identity in Christ.
What is your most significant accomplishment?
Receiving Jesus Christ as my Savior. While this is more of an accomplishment on Jesus’ part, this single event changed every aspect of my life. All the books I have written, films produced, and ministry leadership are all centered on Christ doing the doing through me. So, if it weren’t for Him, I would be incompetent.
In fact, as stated in my Epoch Times interview, I could not read or write until I met my wife. She taught me how to read by making use of the Bible. She “made” me look up every word and then draw a picture of it. This method turned me into a pictorial communicator - thus, my love for writing and media.
What is your end goal?
That is an easy one. I often weep over the lost souls of our culture. It drives me in all that I do. Every literary and media piece I produce aims to introduce viewers and readers to the indwelling Life of Jesus. While I tend to be complex in my writings, in my mind, I attempt to maintain the simplicity of the Gospel. The bottom line - I love people, both fellow Christians and those who refute the claim of Christianity.
Will you go paid?
Well, I have the “paid” option on. However, I am all about providing the Gospel without charge. Believe me, I encourage others to donate to cover the cost of production and marketing, but I am more compelled to give things away. Since people pay for magazines, books, newspapers, and other content venues, I am open to developing this venue. I am still a work in process regarding the business side of what I do. Any ideas from other writers would be welcomed. EMAIL
How does Substack fit into your ministry life?
It fits perfectly. Most of the time, I take writing projects and convert them into Substack entries. However, I am often inspired to write something just for my Substack readers. The lion’s share of my followers on networks typically sign-up to be free subscribers to my Substack. I love it, and it is a perfect fit.
What has been the greatest benefit of using Substack?
Well, outside of Substack grows more subscribers than most of my outlets, The End Times Chronicles reaches an audience that is not Christian-identified. As I mentioned before, this is my primary goal. I have preached the choir for most of my career. Honestly, in my older age, the fruit of what I do is in seeing the secular encouraged and challenged just as much as the Christian audience. I love Substack.
Why do you believe stories matter?
The reader’s story matters to me. Everyone is on a journey, and everyone has a story. We have learned that the older people get, the more they are interested in how the world, as we see it, will end. I encourage readers to use the comment section to tell their stories or surface some questions about a particular global movement. Many times I gain my topics from our readership. Pick a topic, and I will ‘run’ with it. I am an integrated interactive writer. Tell us your story. HERE
What do you mean by His story?
The topic of the End Times is curious to the masses. I know that! And…I want to provide a view that could advance the search of interested on-lookers. As you have probably picked up by now - I am all about the story of Jesus Christ. We encourage readers to forward my links to the masses. Maybe, just maybe, lives can be touched by the story of Jesus Christ through His well-placed prophetic statements.
