Dear IM Substack Friends,
There was a time when my emotions were so heavy, and I couldn’t do the juxtaposition of having prayed for my mom’s healing, and then seeing the empty seat where she used to sit while going up on stage and singing about the faithfulness of God. As I talked with my father about this, he reminded me that even though my feelings were real, they did not have intellect and needed to be submitted to the truth of Scripture.
Truth like Philippians 1:6 where it says, “He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” He reminded me that I needed to walk in the direction that I should go, knowing and understanding that my feelings would eventually catch up to my feet. So, I made a decision to sit down and write more songs, hoping my feelings would catch up. My hope is that songs like this one will encourage those who are trusting the Lord to work out all things together for your good, in spite of your circumstances.
