THE FLESH | HATES BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO
Rejecting rightful authority is a path of rebellion that leads to destruction. Destruction leads to a lonely, dark place.
Throughout Scripture, God warns against the dangers of resisting those He has placed in leadership, for authority is established by Him. Romans 13:1-2 (NASB) reminds us: "Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will bring condemnation upon themselves."
When we despise authority, whether in government, leadership, or spiritual matters, we risk pride, lawlessness, and separation from God’s divine order. Even Satan’s fall stemmed from rebellion against God’s ultimate authority (Isaiah 14:12-15). The wisdom of Proverbs further warns: Proverbs 29:1 – "A person often rebuked who becomes obstinate will suddenly be broken beyond remedy."
Yet, submission to righteous leadership brings protection, peace, and spiritual growth. Those who humbly follow authority, as long as it aligns with God's truth, find blessing rather than destruction. Hebrews 13:17 instructs: "Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they may do this with joy, not groaning; for this would be unhelpful for you."
MY BACK STORY
For much of my younger years, authority felt like a restriction—an unnecessary burden imposed by others who sought to dictate how I should live. I resisted structure, defied expectations, and rejected leadership at every turn, believing that true freedom could only be found outside the boundaries of authority. Rules seemed arbitrary, and submission felt like oppressive weakness. I embraced independence, convinced that my own understanding was sufficient to navigate life’s challenges. Yet, despite my efforts to carve my own path, the constant turmoil and instability in my life revealed that something was missing.
Then, I encountered Yeshua in a deeper way, and everything changed. In Him, I discovered that authority is not a force to be fought against, but a divine order established by God Himself. Yeshua’s identity is deeply rooted in submission—He honored the Father’s will, respected earthly leadership, and carried Himself with humility even when challenged. Through His example, I learned that true strength comes NOT from rebellion, but from surrendering to the One who holds ultimate authority. In embracing His lordship, I found peace, purpose, and a life far greater than anything I had imagined in my pursuit of independence.
I am deeply compelled to preach the message of respecting authority, for it is inseparable from the identity of Yeshua within me.
He, in His perfect obedience, honored the Father’s will and submitted even unto death, showing that true authority comes not from power but from divine order and righteousness. To reject authority is to reject the very structure that God has ordained, and to embrace it is to walk in harmony with who He is.
It is through submission that strength is revealed, and through honor that wisdom flourishes. Yeshua lived as an example, demonstrating that respect for authority is not weakness, but the foundation of humility and faith. His life calls me to share this truth, to encourage others to walk in reverence, and to uphold the principles that align us with His nature. In yielding to godly authority, we do not lose ourselves—we find the fullness of who we are meant to be in Him.

May we walk in humility, respecting the authority God ordains, and avoiding the dangers of rebellion that lead only to ruin.
I challenge all of us to show our respect for God the Father by and through respecting governing authorities worldwide!
